"The proof showed that sometimes the ionization detectors would not go off at all, and yet they

continue to manufacture them, they continue to continue to sell them, continue to stand by them."

Jim Hacker, Hacker Murphy LLP in WTHR's 'Deadly Delay' ionization smoke alarm investigation  | Dec 2007

N.Y. Attorney Jim Hacker

"I have often been cautioned that I should be quiet

"because we do not want the public
to lose faith in smoke detectors."

This statement implies that lives will be
lost if we tell the American public the truth.

the American public was not told the truth?”
